Psi-Delta is moving against climate change
Psi-Delta, together with associate,
Professor John Todd, is developing capabilities at measuring and
reducing the carbon footprints of small businesses and local
government organizations. By applying the same business acumen
and common sense approach which has led Psi-Delta to success in
the water industry, the firm hopes to provide a connection
between the science of carbon footprints and the important
decisions facing small businesses. Psi-Delta views climate
change as a significant risk to all businesses, and believes
that minimising carbon footprints is the best way to insulate
small businesses from the economic impacts that climate change
and its mitigation are likely to have.

Psi-Delta has developed statistical demand
modelling capabilities
Through Psi-Delta's work with the Department of
Natural Resources and Water in Queensland, the firm has further
developed its specialised rural water demand modelling techniques,
taking into account commodity markets, competition, restrictions
on the growth of demand and the effect of climate change. This
capability was originally developed for the Deakin project in
2001 and has undergone continuous refinement in Psi-Delta's
projects. Integration of statistical data, including economic
inputs, with engineering calculations is one of Psi-Delta's
specialities. Most recently Psi-Delta's modelling capability was used to assist the Department in preparing for
the infrastructure needs of the Wide Bay Burnett region of
Queensland for the next 50 years.
Psi-Delta is continuing to develop its
capabilities in this area.
